The sabbatical will involve several different means of transportation, and each will involve a degree of flexibility...
Automobiles: Belinda will be my driver to/from Boulder to Denver Int'l Airport. I will also be renting a car in Finland.
Buses: Buses will be the means of transportation from Barcelona to Andorra as well as on numerous day trips taken over the course of the trip.
Ferry: Ferry rides will be featured on the Baltic portion of the trip: Stockholm, Sweden (with a stop in Mariehamn, Åland Islands) to Turku, Finland.
Planes: I'll take to the air several times over the course of the sabbatical journey: Denver, Colorado to Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal; Lisbon, Portugal to New York City, NY; and NYC to Denver, Colorado.
Trains: I'll be making good use of the excellent European rail system during the time I'll be away. From the south of France to northern Finland, Europe will be seen on the rails.
